Ra’s projects combine choreography and video and are deeply rooted in social justice practices. Brian Fuata is a Samoan artist based in Sydney, specializing in improvisational visual and performance art. In 2022, he and artist Latai Taumoepeau curated MONUMENTAL (working title), a multidisciplinary performance for the Art Gallery of New South Wales’ 150-year anniversary, later remounted for the Sydney Festival in 2023. Datu Arellano (born 1980) is a visual artist, a maker, a musician, and an educator. As a practitioner he straddles multiple contexts of visual and performing arts, and works within the traditional forms of drawing and painting; the experimental aspects of sound design, music, and video; and the commercial contexts of graphic design. Aside from exhibiting, Datu currently performs as an experimental musician/ sound artist, creating music compositions and arrangements for film and theater, as well as designing and building unique DIY music and sound-making instruments. He lives and works in Quezon City, Philippines.

D&P [Daniel Darwin & Perky Parong] are creative producers and performance makers based in Manila, Philippines. As performance makers, they co-devise and present ritual works that investigate identity, belief, systems of archetype, mythology, and their archipelagic ancestry. Their practice is elastic and responds to the intuited needs of the hosting venue or community, and as such their works have been held in theaters, bars, streets, art galleries, abandoned buildings, beaches, mountainsides, gardens, and - most of all - homes. Home-making - the belief that every creative endeavor benefits mightily from a central shared heart(h) - is a vital component of their art. Franchesca Casauay (b. 1984, Philippines) is a Manila-based practitioner working locally and internationally across contemporary performance, visual arts, new media, and hybrid formats. Her work moves between creative production, curation, dramaturgy, research, and artistic support. She helps artists, communities, and institutions translate ideas, organise processes, and carry projects through different stages of development and presentation. Currently she is production manager and ongoing artistic collaborator of Eisa Jocson’s The Filipino Superwoman Band, which premiered at the 14th Sharjah Biennial in 2019 and has since toured in Europe and Asia. Recent engagements include co-facilitating Performance Ecologies, a platform for Filipino contemporary performance organised by Goethe-Institut Philippinen; and festival co-curator and production lead for Sincerely Yours, The Philippines, presented by Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm in Frankfurt in 2025. She was also guest curator for public programs at the 22nd Biennale of Sydney: NIRIN in 2020. Franchesca is a fellow of the International Future Arts Leaders 2019 program of Creative Australia and the Next Generation: Producing Performing Arts 2018 program of Japan Foundation Asia Center. Alongside her international engagements, she continues to work closely with independent art spaces and community-led initiatives in her neighbourhood in Quezon City.

Grace Dlabik is an interdisciplinary artist and cultural leader in Naarm (Melbourne), whose work encompasses sculpture, curation, creative direction, and community engagement. Her Austrian/Hungarian and Papua New Guinean heritage from the Lavaipia clan of Lese Oalai and the Motuan clan Botai of Hanuabada deeply informs her artistic practice. Dlabik has pioneered cultural initiatives, founding BE. Collective and BE. ONE., platforms that uplift underrepresented creatives and promote cross-cultural collaboration. Her roles as a mother and carer influence her philosophy of care, reciprocity, and empowerment. Currently on Wurundjeri Country, Dlabik creates sculptures from clay, limestone, and bronze, merging intuition with ancestral memory to explore identity and belonging. She has received several accolades, including the Highly Commended Award at the 2023 STILL National Art Prize. Her solo exhibition, Kose Karu Kin (2023), and the community project Karu Kin, supported by the Blak C.O.R.E Mordant Fellowship, showcase her commitment to fostering cultural exchange through community-rooted, cross-disciplinary art.

Latai Taumoepeau (b.1972, Gadigal Ngura/Sydney) makes live-art-work. Her faiva (body-centred practice) is from her homelands, the Island Kingdom of Tonga and her birthplace Sydney, land of the Gadigal people. She mimicked, trained and un-learned dance in multiple institutions of learning, beginning with her village, a suburban church hall, the club and a university. Her faiva (performing art) centres Tongan philosophies of relational vā (space and time); cross-pollinating ancient and everyday temporal practice to make visible the impact of climate crisis in the Pacific. She conducts urgent environmental movements and actions to assist transformation in Oceania. Taumoepeau engages in the socio-political landscape of Australia with sensibilities in race, class and the female body politic. She is committed to bringing the voice of unseen communities to the frangipani-less foreground. In the near future she will return to her ancestral home and continue the ultimate faiva of deep sea voyaging and celestial navigation before she becomes an ancestor.

Leeroy New (b. 1986, General Santos City) is an artist-designer whose practice overlaps and intersects with film, theater, product design, and fashion. Originally trained as a sculptor, he tried everything from production design for film, to working with fashion designers, to creating 3D mock ups for commercial purposes. He was able to integrate this inclination to move from one mode of creative production to another as the spine of his creative practice. As a response to the issue of art and art practitioners’ (in)visibility in the Philippines, New decided early on that cultivating a language for large scale public art was the challenge he had to take on. Through his persistence, despite the initially limited support and resources, what resulted were immersive installations that use a variety of found objects directly sourced from the immediate material culture of his current environment.

Sinuye has been banned by Japanese law and the few people who paint today only do so on special occasions. In my research, I search out older Ainu people who have seen Sinuye and encourage them to recall their memories of it. My interviewees are very old and only a few of them have actually seen Sinuye in the past. I ask those few who remember it to draw Sinuye on my face as they recall it being done. Through this act I think about Ainu culture, our Ainu history and myself.”

Natalia Papaeva (1989) is a visual/performance artist born and raised in Buryatia (Eastern Siberia) and based in the Netherlands. At the center of her practice is her native Buryat language, which is currently endangered. She resists it, using her language in her art to bring it from the domestic sphere into the public realm. However Natalia believes that language can be everything, transcending words and letters. She holds a BA from the Royal Academy of Art, Hague. Natalia won the TENT Rotterdam Award in 2018 for the best video work. From 2022 to 2024 Natalia was a resident at Rijksakademie, Amsterdam. Paschal Daantos Berry is a performance maker, curator, writer and dramaturg whose practice is focused on interdisciplinary, cross cultural, collaborative and socially engaged processes. He is a creator of award-winning performance works, an artist mentor, and has contributed works for The Australian Choreographic Centre, Canberra Youth Theatre, QL2, Performance Space, Urban Theatre Project, Radio National, Belvoir Street Theatre and Blacktown Arts amongst others.
